Is the HERO DUBAI FESTIVAL programme confirmed?

Yes, and any changes will be communicated through the HERO WORLD SERIES website. We ask you to constantly monitor it.

How can I register for the HERO DUBAI marathon?

The registration is similar to that of HERO Dolomites: here is the link to the Datasport site.

How can I book my flight to Dubai?

We recommend you book directly with Emirates Airlines.

How can I take my mountain bike by plane?

You can transport your mountain bike by plane as an extra-large baggage for a surcharge. The number of extra-large pieces of luggage is limited, so the rule is "the sooner you book, the better the chance you have".

Will there be a contact person for the organisation during the festival in case of requests for assistance and various needs?

A guide from DER TOUR tour operator will be in Dubai to assist you in case of need.

What are the temperatures in Dubai?

Temperatures in February range between 20° and 24°C during the day. However, in HATTA, where the race takes place, the climate is cooler due to the mountainous environment in the desert and hinterland.

I would like technical information about the race route

The route features 60 km and 1,600 m elevation gain (TBC), and develops on the Mountain Bike Trail Centre’s single trails in Hatta. The route is mostly on dirt road and sand and does not feature specific technical elements: very easy to cycle on. The trails chosen for the HERO DUBAI MTB MARAHTON are mostly single trails carved from the mountains which reach an altitude of 330 m. Another shorter route (30 km) will also be available for anyone wanting to experience what it feels like to bike in the desert. However, only competing in the 60 km race will qualify you to take part in the HWS circuit.

Where exactly is Hatta?

Thea HERO DUBAI MTB MARATHON will take place in HATTA, 115 km from Dubai on the border with Oman.

Where can I pick up my race shirt number?

You can pick up your welcome pack and race shirt number on Thursday, 6 February between 10:00 and 19:00 at the Dubai Jumeirah Kite Beach and in Hatta at the Wadi MTB Trail Centre.

Is it possible to rent a mountain bike on the spot?

The Mountain Bike Trail Centre in Hatta has a bike rental shop with approximately 60 mountain bikes. You can check the bikes’ availability and type by clicking here.

Is it possible to have a rental bike for HERO Kids as well?

HERO Kids takes place in Hatta on Friday, 7 February. Unfortunately there is no kid’s bike hire service in Hatta.

What other services are available in the area?

The Mountain Bike Trail Centre in Hatta features a cafeteria and is equipped with a storage service, toilets, and first aid corner. There are no changing rooms nor showers at present.

In case of mechanical problems with the bike, where can I find a service centre?

Our on-site service will guide you and assist you in finding a solution to your problem.

Will photos be taken, and where can I buy my photos?

Yes, we have arranged for photos to be taken. You can buy your race photos from the service provider.

Besides a passport, do I also need a visa? How do I apply for one?

All you need for Dubai is a valid passport.

Do I need an insurance?

You can take out a travel insurance policy in case of cancellation when registering.

Are there specific bans or limitations when it comes to the possession of food/beverages (sports energy drinks, etc.)?

There are no specific limitations.
